The biggest learning curve was trying to develop a narrative over the three touch points. If we could do something differently, we would make a time plan of when everything needs to be done so that we are not rushing to finish the website at the last minute.

Numerous Front Page Designs  Website Dividers: Final Website: Phone Version: Final Poster: Final Stickers: Rationale: Our goal was to attract Wellington locals in their 20s-30s to The Embassy Theatre with our concept of a 90’s themed night called 199X. 199X is a nostalgic 90’s themed event to encourage those who grew up in the 90’s to recognise The Embassy as a place to be entertained and have fun. We wanted the audience to have a feeling of ownership and be motivated to come along to the event so to get them involved in the night we created a voting poll for people to vote for their favourite 90s movies to be played on the night. Our rhetorical approach for the poster was to use a Gameboy and pixels to represent the 90s and create feelings of nostalgia for the viewer. Once they stop to take in the poster they will be motivated to visit the website to find out more about the event. Our website follows the same de...

We had some really useful feedback during interim today from our peers. The next step for us is to consider how to correlate the colours more effectively throughout our designs. We tried going all black with grey tones and pink outlines to keep our black and neon pink design. It didn't stand out that well compared to our original concept and we decided to stick with it and change our colour scheme of the other elements to match it. Some iterations of the website using the new colour scheme: Some further developments of the home page and voting page: We have changed some of the styles for the website so that it is more cohesive with the design aesthetic of the poster:

Today we got some feedback on our last poster designs and the idea of using bit and pixels and exploring that further is a good concept. Instead of the game boy, we could explore the concept with other subject matter. These are some colour variations for the Gameboy poster: These are some trial concepts using the bit idea: Embassy information for the website: About An iconic Wellington landmark, The Embassy is situated at the head of New Zealand's famous entertainment precinct - Courtenay Place - drawing people in to see movies in a real cinema environment that is lost in the modern multiplexes. Originally built in 1924, the building has undergone a series of remodels and changes in ownership. It is currently owned by the Wellington City Council and temporarily administered by the Embassy Theatre Trust. Management rights were sold to SKYCITY Cinemas in October 2005, and is now part of AHL owned Event Cinemas. The theatre is recognised as a place of historical/...

Today we had interim presentation. The two concepts we presented were a Gameboy from the 90s to show a generic toy that many of our target audience will associate with their childhood. The second concept is Cynthia from rugrats which is using a character from a 90s tv show and showing how we have grown up since then. The feedback we got is that the Cynthia one may be a little inappropriate but the game boy concept could be developed further. We need to think about incorporating the embassy building into our design concept more to tie in the fact that this event is to support the theatre. We have decided to continue on with the Gameboy idea but use Tetris as well to create an interesting composition. We are going to try out different vector styles but these are some initial iterations.  Some concept ideas for our flyer section of the event: Wireframe of NZ opera website: After receiving some advice on our concept, the text size is ...
